Member Numbers
Last Update :
Member numbers can be assigned manually, when adminstrators edit a record. They do not have to be unique.
They can also be assigned automatically via a
sequencer. Contact support if you'd like the sequencer enabled.
Member Number Auto-Assignment via Sequencer
The sequencer acts as a counter, incrementing by one each time a number is assigned to a record. It does not keep track of numbers already assigned, so it's important to avoid manually assigning numbers within it's range while it is enabled.
The sequencer can also prepend the incremented member numbers with characters, and pad the number to a certain character length.
Typically, only records in full member plans are assigned numbers by the sequencer, but this can be changed. Let us know in your request which plans should be included.
If your organization is using Cross Referencing, the sequencer can be configured to assign member number to child records that match the parent.
