Calendar Fields
Last Update :
General Options
- Event Name:The name of the event.
- Calendar Categories (if enabled):If you have calendar categories created, they will display here, and you can assign your event to as many categories as you'd like.
- Event Description:A brief description of the event.
- Time:Time of the event. Alternatively, if you do not have an exact time, you can type in something in the Alternate Time as Text field.
- Status: You can change an event you are working on to "pending" to hide it from any event feeds and pages. This is also where you go to change member-submitted events to 'active' one you have approved them.
Contact Name & Location Information:
This is the name of the person to contact concerning the event. For example, if you enter the email address, the public will be able to see that information and send emails to the individual. Location information will also be publicly displayed. The more information that you include, the more that appears on the event landing page.
Advanced Options
- Event Details:This will allow you to enter more information on the event landing page that you do not want as part of the description for the event.
- Link to Event Registration:The event registration system is kept separate from the calendar of events for greatest flexibility (some events require no registration, some events may offer multiple types of registrations). However, this field allows for linkage between the two modules. This is displayed on the event information page, and you can link to the event registration menu, to a specific event registration you've created within the system, or to a custom registration URL
- Auto-Copy Event:This feature allows you to set up an event that will copy itself into the future. For example, you can set up an event to post every 3rd Tuesday.
- The copying occurs at night, where the event that is marked to copy will be copied into the future. Then that future event will be marked to copy to continue this pattern next night. This repeats each night until an event is copied out 60 days in advance (40 days if weekly copying). After this point, the event will continue to check to see if the next copied event is within that 40 or 60 day window. If it is, it will then mark the event to be copied and copy overnight, if not no new event is created. This continues until the stop date is met (if entered).
- Auto-copied events can be identified by the Auto-Copy Enabled tag underneath the title of the event, in the main event list. You can search for auto-copied events using the search bar in the calendar admin system.
- Alternate Landing Page:If a URL is entered here, visitors that click on the calendar entry for this event will be directed to this URL, instead of the default calendar information page for the event.
Logos:
Up to two logos for the event can be uploaded here. These logos will be displayed on some of the pre-defined calendar layouts (which can be found in Configuration > System Links).
Links:
These fields allow you to create a link from the more-info page to external websites with more information on the event.
